Has anyone considered using Blip as the http server for the encoded files?
Is this even “allowable”? I looked through the Roku agreement but didn’t see anything that seemed to apply.
If so I’m not yet certain if it is technically possible or even if Blip would allow this seemingly convoluted use of its infrastructure.
Any content creators producers out there thinking about walking down this path?

I had want to use blip.tv as the video source for streaming. However, it doesn’t seem to work. The Roku box does seem to support .flv files, but I couldn’t get it to stream anything from our Blip.tv account.
For what its worth, we’re using libsyn.com to host our video files.

Did you request Roku distribution?
Thanks for the tip Kenny. I did not. At the time I started developing (a while ago) that was not an option in Blip. Which caused us to create our own solution.
I bet that helps a ton of others though so thanks for posting! I’ll have to check it out. Once i get this F#$%&* channel launched 
I’ve looked into this for some other clients before. Here is what I found:
Blip.TV: If you upload Roku compatible files there is an option to get the RSS feed for that uploaded format. Example: http://underthetuscangun.blip.tv/rss
The downside: Streaming from Blip. TV servers is not the fastest to load.
It’s funny but if you look at the host URL for the videos on www.watchmojo.com then you will find its videos hosted on blip.TV.
www.mevio.com: They create RSS feeds for all of the shows hosted on their site. They might put ads on the web version. I guess you would negotiate about web advertising. Their servers are fast. I’ve told a couple of clients to use them. They host Cranky Geeks and other shows.
vimeo.com: All of their content is .MP4 but there is a cost involved and a file size limit.
There are others I looked into but I guess this is a good start.
