Audio Metadata for HLS

I’m trying to get Metadata into my audio only HLS streams. Apple has a spec called “Timed Metadata for HTTP Live Streaming”

Does the Roku player support this? I had a look at TagLib, but it does not seem to support insertion of metadata into mpeg 2 ts streams.
