Is it possible (and if how) to download a channel from web (as a zip file) and install it via developer web console or telnet?

Yes, but you need the source code. Any channel/app requiring that method of installation is most likely trying to skirt Roku’s Terms of Service and will likely result in that method of installation being removed from your Roku.
