Is there any way to downgrade to an older firmware version to do compliance testing for a channel? My development Roku is at 2.7, but I want to see how “old” my channel can go to get the biggest available base of Roku players.
My apologies if this has been covered already - I can’t find such a thread yet.
All Roku players are automatically updated when a new firmware is released, so it’s a pretty safe bet that any Roku that your channel is installed on will be at least 2.7. There is no way to downgrade the firmware, as far as I’m aware.
No real way to downgrade. However, when we release a new firmware version, after just a few days there are VERY few boxes that will be running software older than the current.
Patrick, since 2.7 is live, can you reveal roughly what % of boxes are at 2.7? Are we talking 95%, 99%, or well above that?
thanks
Probably all of them, unless a few have been unplugged the whole time since 2.7 was released, but even they will update within 24 hrs after they are reconnected. The updates are automatic. The user has no way to stop them from happening.
