My impression in the past was that USB storage gets mounted only real-only on Roku. This however must have changed for the new rOS 7.5, since the “Live TV Pause” feature will be writing to said external storage.
Which brings my question - can 3rd party devs now do the same?

User-formatted drives are still read-only. Live TV Pause requires a dedicated USB drive which is re-formatted by the Roku for feature-specific use. That USB drive can’t be used for any other purpose (unless/until it is removed and re-formatted by the user externally).
Is there anyway to view the video saved on the USB drive if removed from the TV?
