Is it possible to play an m3u8 HLS stream using ECG?

I’m using ConnectSDK to send videos to the Roku. I believe they use the ECG protocol. I’m able to play most MP4 files but I have yet to get a single M3U8 to work. Is there some way to play those or do I need to make my own channel?
