Issue with thumbnails on Direct Publisher

I’ve been working on a plugin to add a Direct Publisher compatible JSON feed to my Wordpress installation.

All is working great except I keep getting a thumbnail error:

8 items have error: Thumbnail could not be downloaded.

I’ve checked the sizes (800x450) and I can pull them up in my browser easily enough.

Any ideas?

Update… While playing around I noticed that if I use the “Preview” feature of Direct Publisher, the thumbnails are showing up properly. However the Feed Status is still reporting the error.

There is separate forum for this, for some reason - try posting in https://community.roku.com/t5/Roku-Direct-Publisher/bd-p/roku-direct-publisher

Oh, was not aware of a DP board… is this like the developer forum where we as questions about bugs and then check back daily for answers that never come?

Can I please get an answer? Everything is ready to go on a bunch of DP channels, but until I have an answer on this thumbnail issue, I can not proceed.

Clients are getting antsy… please… help…

I just checked a few images in your feed, and they’re all too small (540x405). Looks like they’re all the same image too…

Sorry, just got sick of waiting for a response so I was testing some items out. Even with the proper dimensions, it still has the same error.

Spent last night working on this issue…

  1. Tried a second host to serve the images. Same response.
  2. Downloaded the image that Roku provides in their example and put it on my server. Same response.
  3. If I use the default thumbnail from Roku (Hosted on S3) it works fine.

I’m at a total loss as to what to do here. Any help would be greatly appreciated…

I don’t know if this is the issue, but in your example JSON, the thumbnail URLs aren’t valid… they have http:/ not http://.

Just fixed it, and nope still the same results. That was a glitch from me changing the images to HTTP from HTTPS, thinking that might be the problem.
I updated Test Movie #2 to use the default thumbnail provided in the example feed but still the same results.

8 items have error: Thumbnail could not be downloaded.
