mp4 streaming solution?

Hi all,

I’m trying to developing a roku app to play live streaming content.
The live streaming content is encoded by FFmpeg.

I’m looking for streaming server solution.

In “EncodingGuide.pdf”, Roku seems support only two format: .mp4 and HLS.
Server configuration in HLS seems be very complicated so I would like to try mp4.

FFserver seems not support mp4 format.
Can any of you provide me the streaming server solution? open-sourced solution will be great.

Only HLS can be used for live streaming content, with the exception of mp3 live streams via Shoutcast/Icecast servers.

Thanks for your reply.
Can you provide me the suggestion of open-sourced streaming server?

Currently I’m using FFmpeg to grab X11 server display and looking for streaming server to stream to Roku box.
