Roku Developers, we heard you loud and clear when you told us to bring the forums back. And we’re excited to announce that today we’re launching a dedicated Roku Developers Forum powered by Discourse! We’ve migrated the old posts from our Roku Developer Program section of the Community Forums and archived nearly twenty years of posts.
New Benefits and features:
-
Better search — Discourse’s search makes it significantly easier to find existing answers, reducing repeated questions and getting developers unblocked faster
-
Organized categories and tags — Content is structured so developers can quickly navigate to the topics most relevant to their work (SceneGraph, BrightScript, certification, etc.)
-
Solved threads — Accepted answers surface the best solution at the top of a thread, turning every question into a lasting resource for the community
-
Trust levels and recognition — Developers earn reputation and unlock privileges as they contribute, rewarding the most active and helpful community members
-
Real-time notifications — Developers get notified when someone replies to their post, mentions them, or answers a question they’re following
-
Voting and reactions — The community can upvote helpful posts, making the best content easier to spot
-
Mobile-friendly experience — Full forum functionality on any device, so developers can participate from anywhere, using either the their mobile browser or the Discourse Hub app for Andriod and iOS all
-
AI enhancements - Our new forum has an AI chatbot to help provide developers support, as well as automatic post translations across a wide variety of languages to support our global developer community
-
Direct access to the Roku team — A dedicated space where developers can engage directly with Roku’s Developer Relations team, get official answers, and share feedback that shapes the platform
