Are you entering it with a physical remote? The button combination codes won’t work with a network based remote.
I’m using the phyiscal remote, what do mean by network?

There are a number of network based remotes for the iPhone, Android, PC (ex. DVPRemote, Remoku, Roku Remote for Android, etc.) that can be used to control the Roku via its External Control Protocol, but the “secret” button combination codes only seem to work with physical infrared remotes. Not sure why the code wouldn’t work for you otherwise…
Try to enter the remote code with a smooth cadence of 2 button presses per second.
