Stuttering movie playback with new Roku2 XS

Movie playback for our custom channel is stuttering on a new Roku2 XS

Video is:
1280x720
3.5mbps
Baseline, 3.1
H.264 (MainConcept)
MP4 multiplex
Stereo AAC audio

This did not occur on our previous dev box (Roku XR).

Any thoughts? Thanks for the help.

fyi, changing the encoding profile to Main, 4.0 fixed the stutterring.

nm, this is still a problem.

video plays smooth for about 6 seconds and the starts to visually “stutter” while audio plays smooth.

any ideas?

I’ve seen it happen as well. Videos that play fine on an R1 will stutter on an R2. I haven’t looked into what’s different about the videos that stutter vs. ones that don’t, but I’d say you’re not alone.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve been tasting a few batches of videos today. So far, I’ve had the best luck with:

3.2mbps average
Main, 3.1
H.264 (MainConcept)
Keyframe every 90frames
