Hi Roku Team,
I am trying to contact Kevin to enable our new Roku2 XS to be update-able to BrightScript 3.0, but I don’t think my emails from the forum private messages are reaching him (they seem to be stuck in the Outbox). How can I get a hold of him outside of a Forum PM?

Roku 2’s run on a newer firmware than 3.0, so it should already have all of the features of the 3.0 SDK.
As for the PMs being stuck, they’re not. PMs will sit in your Outbox until the recipient reads them.

That’s what I had thought too, but I don’t see the option to take a screen grab which I believe was added with the 3.0 release? Also I tried doing a “tostr()” for a conversion from int to string and got an error that said it’s not a method. I’m pretty sure that worked on my last Roku so was thinking there was still something I needed to install.

Interesting. I missed that there was no screenshot option. ToStr() is definitely still available, as I use it quite a bit. The new roScreen/2D components are also all available (albeit with some anomalies), so maybe the components are all up to date (or newer), just not the sideloading site.

That very well could be. Maybe when Kevin responds I’ll get some more insight into what the deal is.

The SDK components should be there, though there are still some outstanding issues with the 2D apis on Roku2, screenshots are also still coming, please use one of the other Roku players to get screenshots in the meantime.
