Developer mode key sequence fails

I’m trying to enter development mode on my Roku 2. The developer documentation states:

When you enter the special remote control sequence:

Home 3x, Up 2x, Right, Left, Right, Left, Right

you will be presented with the Developer Settings page.

I have entered this sequence on my remote, however I do not get the developer settings page.

Make sure you’re not pausing too long between key presses.
