Fast-forward 6mo later, i haven’t dealt with channel properties for a while but today went to create a new one. I haven’t heard complaints lately, so i figured developer.roku.com must be working now and went there. Nuh-uh. It still seems unusable and - i’ll go on a limb here but - untested.
Here is an example, i am creating a free channel and eventually reach this “Channel Pricing” screen which is - how shall i put it - very skeptical about wanting to make it free:
[upload|q1jKspQp7ZrvZwyz0vOD9w==]
“Free? No-no-no, we don’t want your kind. It has to be either paid, subscription or in-app purchase. Choose one or you shall not pass.”
Umm, WAT? I balked. Later i tried to go back to the Pricing screen to take a snapshot. Ha, guess what? “Pricing” is not in the menu:

After some poking around, It’s kind of reachable but only through clicking “Save” from one of the other screens. From which one, It’s anybody’s guess.

I saw that pricing screen once about a week ago, too, and was equally as confused by it. In my case, it was on a private channel, which makes it even more confounding. I haven’t seen it again, since, though. A month or so ago, I was also presented with an error that refused to let me update a channel without providing screenshots (again, a private channel, where screenshots are useless). Whenever possible, I use owner.roku.com.
RokuJoel -
it’s a private and free channel. I don’t remember if i saw the screen you show - but if i did, i would have chosen “No”. Regardless, it still shows the hidden (and obnoxious) “Pricing” screen. Here are some proof from other screens (in case i needed any):

By the way - one more issue seen on the 2nd screen: Notice the “: 0.00 EUR” and “: 0.00 USD” lines? I figure those must be 2 recently added countries, for which names were not added to the DB. France and… Mexico? (does Mexico use USD as currency? i have heard it to be called “peso”)
That is where you choose to create a free vs a paid channel.
If you want to change it later, you can go to the Channel Properties page to uncheck or check some of the properties.
Joel
Hey Joel, when I was prompted, it was on an existing private channel. I was never asked that initial question, so you might want to have your web folks make sure it’s not defaulting to true for all existing channels. The only way I was able to bypass it was to switch to the old site.

I keep noticing Mexico and France still have no name in the dev.portal (both new and old). See picture above.
It’s been 6 months since Roku opened appstores for France and Mexico - feels offensive to said countries, mais non?
Somebody with thumbs - please fix that omission.

At what URL are the country names missing?
“Details” tab, like per above photo. There might be others but i suspect fixing this will fix the rest.
I want to kill this thread because the title may be confusing to new developers coming to this forum for the first time. I’m going to attempt to rename it “Improving the developer.roku.com site”.

You have a good point there, “dead” in the name might be scary, although “alive and well” the developer.roku.com ain’t.
Can we settle on a middle ground, like “The troubled^ developer.roku.com”?
In truth, i think me and many (most?) other developers will be happy if “the new” site gets killed altogether because it is nothing more than mascara on top of the web services that https://owner.roku.com/Developer/ provides - but unlike the “old” site, the “new” one actually has serious problems. In private conversations top Roku developers (plural) have told me they avoid developer.roku.com as much as possible. Nobody has said a good word, that’s for sure.
Surely back-pedaling won’t be popular with management but if the issues have not been fixed for a 12 months, when will that happen? Looking at the photo above, it’s obvious no QA has not spent even 5 minutes reviewing the screen. It has not been tested, plain and simple.
Alternative proposal, how about this - instead of killing “new” site, how about when outside developers waste hours fighting with the “new” portal, we get to bill RokuCo for the squandered time? Internally the Co. is can to cost-share/endorse such bills to the web team. Something tells me the issues will get fixed “presto change-o”

When I go to roku.com, sign in, click on my account, and then using the link at the top for “Developer Site”
It takes me to Developer Home https://developer.roku.com/home and I can never get to manage my channels on my account.
This has been broken for over 6 months. Could you fix it please?
Hello renojim, if I am already logged in that works (which is what I’ve been using) - but to see what I’m seeing -
use the link you posted https://developer.roku.com/apps
Click the link “Developer site” at the top right navigation bar.
Now where is a link or anything on the page to get to the apps page again? There isn’t one for me.

Is this not what you see? The “My Channels” section on the upper right is how you get to your apps.

it seems to not like a perfectly valid description (see same exact text, correctly rendered and everything at the public https://channelstore.roku.com/details/75560 )
And another bug I’ve noticed, on 3 separate browsers, is that when I click on your link to the Channel Store and read the description, there’s a Read more link. If I click on it, I see the full description. However, clicking the browser’s Back button gets stuck in an infinite loop, keeping me on the channel’s details page, never going back to the page I started from.
