Integrating voice search

We have seen few apps on Nexus Player or Apple TV where the user can use the microphone/search button on remote to perform a search operation within a channel. Ex. I can use the voice search to search within play store app in Android. Is it possible to do the same on Roku?

This feature does not exist on our platform. It is a great wishlist item.

  1. I believe that if I use an IOS or ANDROID app I can use it as a VOICE search within the app, I think I point to the channel’s search and then use the microphone of the Smartphone/Tablet. I guess the APP does the Voice to text recognition.

  2. I STRONGLY suggest that the voice remote of ROKU, allow this. When I am in the channel’s search, allow me to Push/Hold the “Microphone” button, and then dictate what I want the APP to search for and have ROKU do the Voice to text recognition.
